Time just flies by so quickly like how it always does. We are now into the 10th week of semester 1. this means that semester 1 would be over in just another 2 short weeks. it's been a hectic period with enormous amounts of stress. well, havent had much of a proper rest for the past few weeks because of labs, revisions, tutorials, lectures and not forgetting assignments. it's sometimes just a pain to be doing assignments that are not even graded yet you have to complete them. just thankful and glad that i have completed them. Esp the major report for this semester. Proof-reading is all i need to complete and put it aside. just when all these have been settled, the momentum for revision seemd to have died down. I really need to pick that momentum up again and start revision.
The festive season is finally here.. Christmas market is up and everything's just the same. It kinda feels good to always be there, despite the food being pretty expensive. The christmas market is something that asia should really have it as well. It just creates the christmas ambience despite it not being christmas yet. It's probably the one and only thing I would really miss when I leave this place for good. Nonetheless, I am going to hit it an umpteen times with friends! :D
Now that I am almost half way through final year, Sam and I have been chatting about our future. PhD or work first? well, i would choose the latter first. But still, we are thinking if we would stay in labs for all our lives. PhD thought would likely be banished since I highly doubt I would want to confine myself in the labs for all my life. With that, probably MBA to end things off? No idea and it's all a dilemma. Sam had insomnias over it while she made me think hard as well. But the fact that its going to be recession next year creates a pinch in me. The both of us started conversing on the purpose of doing a PhD and somehow, we can't seem to find a reason to convince ourselves into this 4 years program. We mentioned our classmates and their probable rationale of doing PhD.. Somehow, reason that we could think of for them sounded real ridiculous. Most, would just go for it for the sake of social status and the probable "good pay"! But hey, have they once thought of this.. Who would want to employ a PhD with no prior working experience, when you could get cheaper personnel with a slightly lower education level and could do the exact techniques of a PhD?
I kinda have my plans after grad, but like what Sam said. What if it doesnt work out, do you have a plan B? well.. I couldnt ans. the only plan would be to apply to all and everything probably? Sciences dont earn the most, but we study the hardest as well. This is probably the hasrhest reality we could ever get hit with..
Dilemmas, dilemmas and just dilemmas!!
*Only if we could have our routes all neatly planned out, all queries could be abolished just with the snap of the fingers......
